MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT OF PERSONNEL IN THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CURRENT SITUATION AND PROSPECTS FOR IMPROVEMENT

Abstract

The article considers the actual problem of the possibilities of improving the provision of psychological assistance to servicemen under the conditions of a long stay in a combat zone. A review and analysis of existing approaches, principles and models of providing psychological assistance to servicemen in extreme conditions was carried out. As part of the conducted research, a program of psychological support for military personnel was developed. The program showed effectiveness in reducing the severity of intrusion symptoms, dissociation, depression and had a positive effect on the state of military personnel activity. Based on the results of the work carried out, recommendations were drawn up regarding the psychological support organization for servicemen in the conditions of a long stay in the combat zone.
