FACTOR MODEL OF SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING OF WOMEN AMONG FORCED EXTERNAL MIGRANTS
Abstract
Relevance of the research topic. In the context of forced external migration caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war, the problem of the subjective well-being of externally displaced women is becoming particularly acute. Women who have left their homes due to hostilities face numerous challenges of adaptation, socialization and self-realization in new conditions, which can determine the specifics of their experience of subjective well-being.
Purpose and methods of the study. The purpose of the study is to identify the internal structure of the subjective well-being of women who have moved abroad as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. An empirical study was organized using a set of psychodiagnostic techniques and factor analysis. The study sample included 223 women who are abroad (Great Britain) because of the war.
Results. Four main factors that create the internal structure of the subjective well-being of this category of women are identified: self-worth and interaction, switching, optimism and coping, control.
Conclusions. The subjective well-being of migrant women is determined not only by the level of their adaptive abilities, which are determined by their inherent coping strategies, but also by their basic beliefs about the world and themselves, as well as by the nature of interpersonal relationships (closeness, dependence), which determine the quality of social interaction and affect the intensity of social support.
