To the question about the consequences of the stress of combatants: profiles of somatization

Keywords: combatants; stress; reintegration of a soldier; somatization profiles.

Abstract

The article analyzes the consequences of the stress as a result of participation in hostilities. Long-term consequences for mental and somatic health for participants in active hostilities even despite the absence of bodily harm, which significantly affects the quality of life of such persons upon return from the service, are discussed. The author aims to «trace» the triggers of destructive psychological changes, the so-called prenosological symptoms of both the mental and somatic spectrum, until they become chronic and give rise to a diagnosis.

As a result of the theoretical basisanalyses and recent research in this area, the author proposes to develop the concept of somatization profiles, which will help to re-form the cooperation of various links in the provision of medical and psychological care to this category of persons.
